Thats it, I am finally going to give up roaming the halls, I am just too old and grumpy to deal with this stuff ....

 Good grief!

Awww, your two favorite girls. Very nice, Zane. What kind of ammo do you use for antler hunting.;)

!!!!

Mornin!!

Last night I dreamed I was out in the woods (tho sometimes there were tidal pools) with Leyla discovering stuff, we found a tooth. When we brought it into my new apartment to show everyone you had all rearranged the furniture (which was all new to me anyways) and were playing board games in the living room.

It was a raccoon's tooth, the canine.

In response to Becky's call for project photos, this baby shower cake kept the baker in this house busy most of yesterday.

QUOTED IMAGE

Sorry, but I was not permitted to take "in process" shots. She was muttering something about not wanting others to see how messy the kitchen is when something is a work in progress.

Ducky and the umbrella handle are a fudge chocolate cake with orange cream filling. The umbrella is a lemon cake with butter cream filling.

For scale purposes, the blue base is roughly 2'x3'

Nice! I love it!!!

Morning all! I have no projects in progress except another blanket that is almost finished. Sitting here waiting for hubby to get home as he promised to take me on a photo excursion this afternoon.:D

Very cool project, Zane. That looks very interesting, and great to see the process. What do you use to ignite the fuel?

His head.:p;)

Cute. Does she make a lot of specialty cakes? And tell your wife to use my adage, the messier the kitchen the better the cook.:D

Quick stop in between church and going to the outlaws.

Finally, using his head has some practical use. His parents will be proud. :p

I don't know about you, but I've found the global news full of very depressing stuff as of late. I realize there are rules about discussing politics and hot-button topics on this forum, so I shall not do so, nor shall I encourage such discussion.

That being said, watching Cat's "Free Hug" video was a nice respite from all the doom and gloom.

I was thinking the same thing. We need to do more hugging and less of that other stuff.

So, per Becky's idea, here are a few shots of bits of what I have been tinkering with.

<snip>

When I worked at Ryan, I spent a lot of time building theFIREBEE (external link)target drone.

One of its cousins, which was out of production by the time I started there, was the FIREBOLT (external link). The Firebolt was a rocket powered (rather than jet pwered, like the Firebee) drone capable of mach 4 speeds. It was powered by an engine that used butyl rubber and fiberglass as the fuel and IRFNA (Inhibited Red Fuming Nitric Acid) as the oxidizer.

There were old stickers from the Firebolt kicking around the shop and one said "Caution IRFNA..." I never did find out what IRFNA was until I got an internet capable computer...

Changed my mind already.

If you don't roam the halls you don't find links to pictures like these.

There are some amazing images here, and everyone looks so happy, some of these are a bit NSFW if you use non European standards :-)

Somehow, I just can't picture this happening in one of our large cities here. For the most part, Americans are not as gregarious as Europeans.

Hello!

Mari forced me to TMS ....first started with "I want pictures of Samuel and will be taking him to XYZ to get pictures taken."
I said I could do that, why spend the money.....right?
Next thing I know, I'm borrowing a co-workers background stand and then pondering what to do with lighting while at the camera store buying the white paper. Then my wonderful wife said, "Why don't we buy some lights since I don't really want to borrow something so expensive from your co-worker." Gah What?! Uh...okay. We ended up getting a Westcott brand kit which was 2 lights, stands, rolling bag, sync cords and softboxes which then came with a free light, gels, grid, barn doors and short stand included. Not bad...total 1200 watts if needed. So I spent a good part of yesterday going through a crash course of lighting, setting up, messing with camera settings and using one of the subjects...hehe...I think I have the lighting where I want it. So later today, we do a shoot with both boys....if the lil one cooperates again.

So much for saving up for the Android Tablet I wanted to buy. :|

Here is one of the 15 shots we are going to print out of the lil man. :D

Looking good! And the lights will last a whole lot longer than some computer that'll be declared obsolete in 6 months when they release the next one.
