Well... Sure enough that I'd be willing to bet a couple bucks on it.

It's about time we got into a wetter cycle. We need the rain and snow...
Makes for some interesting work commutes for me. I tried to get to work last night, but I didn't get far. The Grapevine was closed, and a lot of the time when they close that, the 14 is closed also. But, not last night. So, I hopped on the 14 and started slipping and sliding all over the place. I just could not get any traction. My tachometer looked like I was revving the engine as the RPMs spiked every time the tires started to spin.
After about five or six miles I got to a stretch that heads downhill and I hit some ice that was under standing water. I lost control of the car completely. I could turn the steering wheel any direction I wanted, but it wasn't having any affect at all. I was just sliding downhill blindly. Fortunately the car kept sliding in a straight line, barely even veering out of my lane, and after about one or two hundred feet the tires got traction again and I was back in control.
Screw that noise! I took the very next exit, called my supervisor and said I wasn't gonna try to get any further, and wouldn't be coming in.
Then, I turned around and spent the next half hour driving those five or six miles back home, through mud slides and flooded streets, getting turned around twice because of closed roads, as I scrambled for alternate routes.
I didn't have anywhere near that amount of trouble only three weeks ago when there was a few inches of slushy snow on the 14 one night!
