You get good people shots too. Your horse in the fog shot...that is such a wow.

Your styles are very different though. His jump shots are not as good as yours. His timing isn't as good.

He does tell a good story though. I found myself several times thinking "they must be related" or "wow, that guy is OLD and still riding a horse"

Thanks, good observations. It is funny you noticed that about the relations. It is a small community. While there are jockeys that come onto the scene, most of them come from the fox hunting clubs where the race traditions started. There is a lot of old money and generations of racers. It is funny because there are days where there are family members from the various families entered in the stick pony race, lead line, junior.......on up to the top fields. Many of them become trainers and owners after being riders. This year a bunch of oldies are coming back as amateurs because they have been off track so long. It should be an interesting year to see who makes it. There are some VERY stiff races. This today was just a club race not a big sanctioned race.

Could some of it be the reduced quality shutterfly appears to post at? his images always look bad there but are sharp elsewhere it seems.

I wonder if that is it.....some of the shots look really good IQ wise and some have noise the size of bowling balls.

Nice sharing of videos and slide shows. Enjoyed them all.

ZANE for what is worth, I always wait a day or two before working on shots from a shoot. Gives me enough detachment to not think every shot sucks. We are our own worse critics, so trust us when we tell you we are looking forward to seeing your shots we enjoy your work and I'm sure the racers are glad you "bother".

Apparently last night was the old date for changing the clocks. I was scurring after sleeping through the alarm this morning only to discover when I sat down here, I am right on time.:o:rolleyes: My alarm clock was bought before the dates changed an automatically switches. Time to code it back to central time.

Hope everyone has a good day. Curt and I have interviews after 2nd service for the summer camp we have volunteered to shoot this summer. The camp is for foster children so we have to be approved by Family Health Services.

House Update:

We bought the flooring and went with bamboo! We are putting it down ourselves but it won't be delivered until Tuesday and we've gotta give it a few days in the house to acclimate. It isn't the usual very light color, we went witha darker stain...I'll try to find a picture from the website of the place we got it.

Today we are painting ceilings and removing baseboards and painting closets.

I don't know if this link will work but this is my friends shots of the race today. He does not do much of anything to them, they are noisy, and not always cropped the best but I love his eye. He gets great people shots and the 28-300 he uses has a nice look to the zoomed images. I on the other hand will take awhile to PP and post my pictures and then I will hate them  Why do I do this again?

There may be one of me in there. They look best on slide show.

He does have some good shots, but really need to do at least some cropping. Lots of the action shots in there have heads cut half off, stuff I would not even use, but I guess if he is selling them you never know what will be bought. All in all, your shots are much superior to his. You action shots are many times better, and you have great people shots too, and have a much better eye for the ladies. ;)

Yesterday was one of those classic spring days here, it was 70 degrees and just perfect for working outside.
Sunny was a happy girl, knee deep in tall pasture grass and loving every minute of it.

I love the Bay Area in the spring. Summers are nice, too. Fall? Meh. Winters? Winters are the main reason we live in the desert now. Turns out we have a greater aversion to cold and wet than we do to hot and toasty.

As wet as these past two winters have been I was almost ready to move to a drier place myself. But after living for many years in the hot & toasty Central Valley, I'll suck it up through the wet winters and enjoy the other three seasons.

Morning.
So far it's a nice day here. Partly sunny/highs near 54. I was so happy to see blue sky that I opened up the house to give it a spring airing. Tis a bi cold now.

Crissa, nice flooring and cute baby photo.
Tim, I love the signs of spring...nice photos.
Becky, LOL!! I've never had a clock (except the computers) that changed time on it's own.
