Trivia information for anyone visiting London. If you visit Buckingham Palace, The Tower of London, St James's Palace or Windsor Castle the chances are that you will not see the Scarlet coated bearskin wearing guards that you expect to see. The 7 regiments that make up the Household (or Guards) Division are spending more and more time deployed on operations in Afghanistan and various other hot spots. However there will be loads of them around for the up and coming "Royal Wedding" (Have you had your invite yet Tom, I put in a good word for you :-) )

There are four ways to distinguish which of the 7 regiments each guardsman belongs to. The first and most obvious is the regimental badge, when in their home service clothing this is only shown on their collars so is not easy to see, the other ways are The colour of the plume in their bearskin, the side of the bearskin that the plume is in and the number and arrangement of the buttons on their tunic. The two cavalry regiments can be distinguished by the colour of the plumes from their helmets and the colour of their tunics (the farriers screw this up as they have black plumes)

Anyway this is the new graphic from the top of the Household Devision newsletter and it is a great crib sheet to help you spot who is who.

they can import them from NJ Neil, it is legal to hunt bears here as they are all too common in backyards and trashcans.

I think it is legal in almost every state they live in with decent populations, at least black bears.

Hello everyone. It is and will be very quiet here for a couple days, took Aiden up to his other Gammy's until Tuesday evening. I promise to get some shots then and post. I can't believe how much he has grown up in looks, personality, and behavior since November.

Really nice Becky

Edgar.
At a whopping 18.5 lbs, he's the biggest of the bunch (Louisa is 7.5).
It's mostly skin though.

wow those pups look like a total hodgepodge. Bulldog. Pittbull. Lab. Sharpei.

...and Rabid Killer Chihuahuas! Huge! Vicious and uncontrollable! At six weeks old, the Rabid Killer Chihuahua can bring down a fully grown Wildebeest, or a Siberian tiger or even Chris. THINK OF IT!!! A Chihuahua bringing down Chris.

Geez, that's funny stuff.

Becky, I will post the progress pics after I can get some of the place painted, it is still looking mighty rough!! I left my camera over there, have to remember to bring the card home and download. I've got a video walk-thru from the first day then another from last week, hoping to do another next week after the floors are in.

That is fun that you are plowing through it pretty quick.

Made it into the 80's today. But in the mid-west this time of year this equals unstable weather conditions. Looks like the storms tracked north though. Hopefully nothing severe for .tif, et.al. Now the wind is kicking up here, no doubt a cell moving through.
