Wanted to try out some light painting this weekend, so I tried it out in my garage after dark. Took multiple exposures of all the body panels and put them all together in post. I still need a lot of practice with it, but it was fun!

This is a great shot, anyway you could get rid of the light glare on the windows? I think if those were gone it would be perfect.

yeah there were spots where the light wasn't so smooth and even. it'll get better with practice, but i agree there are a few distracting hotspots.

It's a bit extreme, to be honest. The bodywork is quite patchy, you're falling off to fast at the front and back and the foreground is all a bit sketchy. The interior looks really nice though. Perhaps try using a larger, softer, light source, and then using a tad more distance until you get the understanding of how the process works down a little better. It takes a lot of skill to use the LED Torch that you are to paint a car, and not make it look foggy or choppy in the paintwork at close range. Step back and move slower for a while, then move closer each time until you really get the hang of it :).

i agree that it is a bit over the top, but i'm happy with it for a first attempt. light painting with a silver car was a lot harder than i'd thought since the paint reflects all the light back to the camera so well. what im going to try next time is wrapping a piece of paper around the LED bar to diffuse the light some, and move a bit further back while painting. i'll hopefully have some more time this week to practice so that i can get some more realistic results. thanks for the ideas!

Sorry, but in the "Share" areas IMAGE POSTING RULES only allow 2 attachments by the OP per thread, OR 8 embedded (linked) images, OR a combination of both totaling 8 per thread. (Maximum 1024 pixels on any side.) You can always just post a link to more, though, or better yet, post a link to a gallery so we don't have to click on each image link.
Some exceptions are group threads, like "Show Me...", "Post your best...", equipment reviews, Tutorials, etc.
You may add a few additional photos if requested, but only in a reply to other member's post and request.

I've been working on a re-edit tonight that implements more shading and shadows so that it looks more realistic. I'll post my progress on it tomorrow. I think it looks much better so far!
