Been back about a month and finally getting through all the pictures. Really only had 2 days in the park. Weather cooperated for one day, the other a little gray. Both days there was a fair bit of low hanging fog in the valley, which added a cool look on the one hand, but softened the colors a little bit on the other hand. Here's a couple of my favorites though.

Number 5 really bugs me. What kind of processing did you do? The reflection is way too dark IMO. Other than that I like the compositions on those, especially the El Cap shot!

Thanks for the kind words folks, it was an amazing experience to be there and observe the landscape.

Hikin Mike - Sorry you aren't happy with that one. I generally only adjust contrast, sharpness, and exposure a little bit in Lightroom. This one was slightly underexposed so I had to lighten a little bit as the reflection was a fair bit darker than the sky. I used a CPL filter on all of these. Some I used a graduated ND filter with (but not on this one or the exposures probably would have been slightly closer like #6, but even that one was slightly darker on the reflection SOOC.) Most of these I would shoot in 3 to 5 shot groups with exposure bracketing in case I had to mess with HDR after I got back. But to be honest I haven't even messed with that yet and don't know that I will. I was pretty happy with these as they were and I'm still working my way the first time through all the photos from the trip.

On that note, here is another of my favorites.

Tom
Would you mind providing some info of the camera/lens you shot with each photo?

I love the blue sky, but your 3rd & 4th images are my favorites.

just a few of my thoughts...
