Meh... who cares about these mid end flashes? I want to see some high end ones!

EDIT: Actually I don't... that might tempt me to buy them, lol

with the t1i-t3i. They need a mid end flash. The metz 44 AF-1 will be very tempting for rebel users. It is a sub 180 dollar flash when it gets here. And it gives allot of features. Canon need to try to get some sales in that segment.

I would like to see a new 580, but I am pretty dead set on getting the metz 58 AF-2 this summer. It might drove the price down on it a little.

It is a good option for video guys, and for entry dslr owners that want a more feature flash then the 270, but do not want to pay for the 430.

It's interesting that Canon actually marketed these 2 flashes for video.
I wonder how it's gonna work though.

But yeah, I actually expected new high-end flashes to replace 580EX & 430EX.

Am I the only one thinking that the 320EX offers no advantages over the 430EX II, especially given the 430EX II's added flexibility in angling, power etc, and its much lower price?!! Seem an odd positioning to me.

Video shooters will already have continuous lights that are probably more powerful and cheaper, and probably better quality than LED too.

I think the 320 has it's place, especially for those who can't afford a 430 but want a flash that swivels. Also, because it's pretty compact, it might mate well with a 5Ds. Personally, I'd get the original 430 used over a new 320, but lots of people just aren't willing to go used.

Actually the trend in camera mounted video lighting is going to LED.

i don't see much significance in these models, as the 430 and 580 have come down in prices recently...

Canon Marketing knows what they are doing.

One has remote release the other does not.
One has video light other does not
One has slave flash the other does not
One has vertical and horizontal bounce the other does not

Wonder how many people will buy both?
