Canon 60D, T1i/500D, Eos 1, Eos 630, and Olympus epl-1. Current Canon Lenses ef 100 2.8, ef 85 1.8, ef 50 1.4, ef 28 1.8, ef 50 1.8,ef 28-135, ef 70-300, ef-s 18-55, ef-s 55-250, 500D close up lens. Current Olympus lenses oly m4/3 14-42, oly 4/3 35mm 3.5 macro with m4/3 adapter, panasonic 45-200, panasonic 20 1.7. And a Part time Pentax K-X shooter.

Might have well just re-released the T1i at that pricepoint. It's got nothing on the T1i, including price.

T1i/500D is still on the market, did not get discontinued yet. So between the price of the 1100D or the 500D. The 500D would be a better value. All it really gets is the newer metering.

All the more reason it makes no sense. At least when the 1000D came out, it had liveview over the XTi. But this 1100D is just lame.

it is the next XS. The most basic model. Even the nikon and sony offering in the base model does not have a tilt screen, d3100 or the A290 or the pentax k-x

The Canon USA website indicates that all nine AF points on the T3 are cross-type:

This could by a typo, but if it's true, the autofocus out-specs the T3i.

It is not true. They appear to have copy/pasted the info from the 60D.
