Monopod and QR Opinions

Hey everyone!

I have an Induro tripod and a Gitzo G1177M head. I would like to get a QR system that would work good for both the Gitzo on the tripod as well as on a monopod. That way i can leave the same plate on my 7D.

So my questions are:
1. Which affordable monopod would be good for hiking and shooting the gripped 7D and a mid zoom? Also which head would be good?
2. Which QR system would be good to put on the Gitzo and monopod?

I don't think I need anything special for the monopod. I doubt carbon fiber is needed here.

Thanks for any input!

You don't need a head for a monopod...

(I use a GM2541, it's very nice!)
