Syncing a underwater p&s camera with strobes

I did a low-budget underwater photo-shoot recently, using a p&s camera and underwater housing that I had lying around the house. Read my blog post here to see how I synced the speedlites on the surface with the camera.

pretty cool! Too cold to try this up north right now... maybe this summer... water - above and below - has a lot of possibilities.

On the technical side: duct tape does not seal anything (maybe from rain, but not submerged). If you really want to seal it, coat in clear rtv (clear so the light will go through).

ETA: Silicone electrical tape - available from electrical supply houses - would work well for this also. It's great stuff that forms a tight seal.
