get the sigma 10-20mm. ive had it with my 50D and it was amazing. The canon is over rated.
You had no issues with the lens? Like sending it back to Sigma? I had to send my lenses in 3 times for my Sigma primes..wonder if it's the same for zooms?

This is how I feel bout my 10-22.. I would go for the 12-24 as it has a longer focal length, I'm not real fond of short zoom lenses. I know the f2.8 is godly but I probably won't need it. Feb 07, 2011 14:27 | #24 So apparently I'm being bombarded by my photography buddies about how I'm losing 2mm for the ultra wide experience. I didn't think there be a BIG fat issue vs. the 10-22mm. I'm actively lazy!!

I rented the Canon, but ended up buying the Tokina. It has better build and for the sizes I print, the image quality is great. I'd second this - if 12 mm is wide enough for you, the 12-24 is a really terrific lens. I bought mine used for $325. It's constant f4, solidly built and a lot of fun to use.
