So I've been invited to come back and shoot any game that I want by the pro photog and he let me use his 400mm 2.8 Friday & Saturday. HOLY CRAP that thing is a beast! I originally planned on buying one but now I think I'll go with a 300mm since I'm shooting mostly Roller Derby right now and a 400 would be a bit much in the close confines of the track.

Here's a fight sequence shot with my 70-200 2.8 II through the port through the glass. I wish they were closer to me but they decided to scrap on the other end of the ice.

Number 2 is solid...needs to be cropped a LOT tighter, though...the goalie adds nothing to the shot.

Is that shot at the first arena? Elmira is the home team of my birthplace. I go visit regularly and watch the games..The Jackals are having an OK season.

I'll try to crop it close, just not sure how it will stand up since I think I shot it at 200mm on the other end of the ice.

This was at The Orleans arena in Las Vegas. The jackals were definitely more aggressive and active than our Wranglers were in the first game of their series. They looked solid!

Number 2 is money! I agree on the close crop.

Great work!

Some nice fighting shots. Number two is perfectly timed.

GO STEELHEADS... sorry had to add that in there. I really like the action in shot #2, but as said before a tighter crop would look great.
