hot damn! That's amazing looking. Beautiful print too. Is that a high-gloss paper, or is there a sheet of plexi/glass on top of those prints?

Stunning.

I should add, with a printer of that quality, you really ought to invest in a high-quality paper cutter (rototrim or dahle) so that you can do all that at home. Less risk of damaging prints/messing up corners in transit to the hobby lobby. I've got a rototrim and its a joy to use.

Hey Jeff! My idol photographer ;)

The sheet over the first print is plastic. Its the cheap frames for $15. We were in a rush and couldnt get custom framing/glass since we had a show the next morning. For the prints, we used Epson Photo paper. They also sell canvas paper and other materials for this printer. A roll of 100' ranges from $80-150. The printer does have a cutter on it. I havent learned how to use it properly. But as for cutting the other sides, I agree. We should get a high quality cutter. We were using razor blades and it cut just fine, but its risky too. I will look into the rototrim.

Wow, thanks for letting us see this! I'll dream about your printer next time I'm doing a 4x6 print on my little HP. ;)

the printer retails for $5000. They have the colorburst edition for $1000 more. I got it at a better price (under $2000) since we had it under a lease at the oil/gas company I work for and got the buyout price. I've already sold 2 prints for $100/ea fresh of the printer so the money will be back in no time. :)

At that price, I'll take 2! :)

That's great to hear you were able to get it at such a discount. What a wonderfully fun toy! We all spend so much time creating the images behind the camera and in front of the computer....so it's such a treat to print at that size to have such a wonderful tangible result of all the hard work.

Again, congrats!
