I was at a local benefit in my home town yesterday. The goal was to help raise money for victims of a tornado that ripped through a few weeks ago and left a wake of de4vastation to many people's homes.

These are just a few shots of some of the local talent that donated their time to help the families. Let me know what you think.....

Think lighting is superb. Composition on #1 is very nice. Like the movement on #2. Very good job, any more?

Which is why I rarely read or post in the "Share" threads. I don't feel comfortable commenting on someone's work unless they ask. That is what the "Critique Corner" forum is for. There, I will say "Needs to be cropped, rotated, brightened or trashed." Likewise, when I post a shot, I get an actual response worth reading. Sure beats 15 people boosting thier Post Count by saying "kewel pix" to everything.

By the way, on the first shot, you should have moved to the right and shot from a slightly differnt angle, getting the distracting light out of the FOV. The light adds nothing to the shot. On the second shot, consider cropping from the left to just behind (but not into) her head and from the bottom to just above her wrist, then cloning out the equipment.

Thanks for the feedback Radtech1. I ask for critique in this forum because there are many more users actively engaged in it. Sometimes this doesn't do very well for critique because there are so many posts it falls back very quickly.

As for the first photo, I was as far to the right as I could get to avoid other distracting lights. I could clone out the pink light pretty easily, but I thought it added a little context to the setting and it matched her outfit. The second shot sounds like an interesting idea and i will try it when i am not at work to see how it looks.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this.

Agreed. Especailly since it matches.

But I still might blur it out some, as it (at least to me) seems to pull my eyes away.
