I can't spell... Actually, no. When the question is "who owns the copyright," that's subject to the federal statute, but when copyright ownership is not the question, copyright can be handled under state laws just like any other property. Obviously not the originals but the ones you upload. If someone then takes that image of one of the aforementioned websites they are not stealing from you but rather the owners of the site. 500px

I like Mike's concept. Go over one day and take their car. Tell them the keys were on the counter and didn't have anyone's name on it. Don't do that, the penalties for stealing a car is a whole lot more than copyright infringement! bcd01 - devices of enjoyment list

No, the images do not become the property of flickr. They have no copyright claims on the images. They may have some limited usage for display purposes, but not copyright. If someone takes your images from flickr and uses them you still have a copyright violation claim against them. Unless Australian law is very radically different than U.S. I suspect its the same there.

Isn't the point that she's trying to say it's fair game if it's on the net without a watermark? Because that is an issue of who owns copyright, obviously our friend here does but she *used to* think that the image was up for grabs. 35mmNewbie wrote in post #11811172 This was about proving her wrong by providing the .gov link bove, not throwing all these examples as I do live with her.
