Thanks!

Yes it's cropped. Also, compressing messed up the blue sky and left artifacts. The full resolution pic has a nice smooth sky.

I am looking for a TC to use with my Canon EOS 7D and Canon EF 70-200 2.8 IS II.
I've been trying to decide between Kenko 1.4x and 2x TCs. Seems like you had very good results with your TC. What TC did you use? Would you recommend 1.4x over 2x?

:)

Looks great and i have mentioned providing your objective is not fast action sports or dive bombing BIF shots the 70-200MKII works exceptionally well with most all the 1.4 extenders with AF still very responsive.

Regards, ;)

The TC is a Kenko Pro 300 1.4x DGX. I've never used a 2x because the sharpness in sample pics I've looked at really suffers.

Samples from which lens combo? The original 70-200mm f2.8 IS L could not take a 2*TC that well and whilst I owned that lens I used the 2*TC about 3 times on it. The M2 however is a class ahead and can take a 2*TC much better;

should give you some idea of how good it is :)

plus birds are much easier at 400mm than at 280mmm

Tools of the trade: Canon 400D, Canon 7D, Canon 70-200mm f2.8 IS L M2, Sigma 120-300mm f2.8 OS, Canon MPE 65mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro, Tamron 24-70mm f2.4, Sigma 70mm f2.8 macro, Sigma 8-16mm f4.5-5.6, Raynox DCR 250, loads of teleconverters and a flashy thingy too

I agree with Overread it works pretty good with still responsive AF using a 2X as seen below:

These test shots were taken on a very gloomy overcast day.
