I have had a few people ask me via PM to post some wrestling shots from my 1d. I have been shooting with my 20d mostly but I had a chance to finally use the 1D Classic this weekend.

Let me know what you think. ISO was at 500, shot with on camera flash, 580 EX. SS was around 1/500th. Shot with the Sigma 70-200mm 2.8.

AF was fast. Really fast. I mostly use this lens for soccer and baseball. But I think it did a pretty good job. I am going to use it again this Saturday for our last league match and maybe a scrimmage this Wednesday.

4. I may convert this to B&W. I think it may work in that way...

Wrestling doesn't seem to get much input here. Check your EXIF, I didn't think the 1D sync'd at 1/500 but would force you to 1/250th. Why shoot with the 20D when you have a 1D?

I wanted to see how the 1D would perform. I was shooting for myself and interested to see if the camera could produce some quality shots and I think it did.

The sync speed on the 1D classic can go higher than that. I'll have to check the manual.

My 20d is a solid performer for me. Does what I need and does it well. It is looking more and more like a back up the more I use the 1D. And I was having a problem with my rf-602's firing when using the 1D. But I figured that out tonight.

Connection between the flash and hot shoe on the camera is not right. Applying pressure gently to the trigger while in the shoe resulted in the flash firing. Fixable by Canon I hope.

Especially since both camera bodies could probably use a tune up and or cleaning. I'll have to followup with Canon and get a price if they are still serviceable.

I also like working with the files both bodies produce. And the cost of a new body is not financially possible right now.

I really like all your shots. Sharpness is great, focus is on target, light/ISO management is good, shutter speed is good, good all around. Thanks for sharing.

The sync speed for the 1D (classic) is 1/500th. OP: Nice series of images.

Sinc speed in E-TTL is 1/500 but it's possible to acheive much higher speeds in manual mode (like 1/1000-1/2000)
