I just got an email from BH. I signed up for notification before I bought one.

Just a friendly heads up.

Thanks, I hope it's worth it and I can handle the flare. Good partner for my 17-55.

There have been many complaints about the flare. I have encountered flare while out in the field, luckily it has not really been much of a problem for my photography. Since I have used it I don't really shoot too much in the direction of the sun except for sunsets. Never had a problem with flare and sunsets that I can remember. Some people have had issues shooting into any kind of light. It will be more or less of an issue depending on when/where/what you shoot.

My only gripe is I wish it was a little longer but I knew what I was getting into so it's not really an issue. Perfect with your 17-55.

Roberts Camera in Indianapolis has them in stock for $599.97. Adorama has them for $649. Wonder if they price match?
