Canon makes their 60-millionth EF lens.

Go to New Today (external link) and read his write-up on EF lenses. He wasn't saying this a few years ago. But has become less of a Nikon bigot....oh wait he's a Leica one now. ;-)a

Canon has sold more lenses in 25yrs than Nikon has in 50yrs. Wow!

Seems like we just had the 50 million mark last year. Man time flys.

Do you agree with his analysis?

I agree that Canon has infact sold more lenses in a shorter amount of time...

But as for "Canon won"... Won what? Certainly pure sale numbers does not mean a better product.

Canon is a MUCH LARGER company than Nikon. It makes sense they have many more resources available to them.

Gear List? My gear is bigger than yours? Just shoot have fun...

His point is that many thought the move to EOS was bad, that it sacrificed lens compatibility for no known reason. But Canon quickly created features that others are playing catchup too.

Is he still going on about his d40 being the best camera?

He is now shooting only a m9, if he was a serious leica fan. He should be shooting the S at medium format. He is still a nikon flunky.

Now just got my popcorn and will wait for the Noink fanboys to appear and say Canon sells more lenses because they break more easily and have to be replaced :D

Photography is about GEAR and not talent or practice. Practice won't make you a better photographer. Expensive equipment will. =D

Yes, I know...I just recall that the last time I went to his site he was going on an on about how the D40 was the best camera and that you should shoot with increased vividness. :p

Somewhat sad, yet most likely true!
