Anyone know if Canon has a point and shoot that can upload automatically to websites like facebook, flickr etc?

Samsung has the Cl80 TECH SPECS HERE (external link)

I don't think they do but any camera can have this feature with an eye-fi memory card. Soon they'll be adding the ability to send to your iPhone as well.

If i am not mistaken, the eye-fi cards DO have wifi but its only ability is to connect to you PC (tether) via wifi and not upload directly to a site.

During the quick set-up, you customize where you want your memories sent. The Eye-Fi card will only send them to the computer and to the sharing site you choose

from the Eye-Fi site (external link)

The Samsung Camera above has the ability to upload directly from the camera to a site via wifi hotspot. so when you are in a starbucks or if your phone has a hotspot function you can upload them directly from your camera after taking pictures.

Your quote is contradictory. Eye-Fi can upload to your computer AND upload to any of 25 sharing sites such as Facebook, SmugMug or YouTube. That is demonstrated in the link you provided.

Also, they are just about to launch their new Eye-Fi Direct mode which will allow the card to act as an internet hotspot and automatically send the pics to your mobile phone. With this feature you take a photo and it instantly shows up in your iPhone's photo gallery. Now you can do absolutely anything with it using your mobile phones network. This is in addition to it's basic functionality so when you get home it will still do it's normal download magic. Here's a link that demonstrates Eye-fi Direct: http://news.bbc.co.uk …/click_online/9362211.stm (external link)

As soon as Eye-fi direct is available to the public I'll be upgrading all my SD cards to Eye-fi.

How can you say they are contradictory?

these cards (the current ones) have wifi, but their only ability is to transfer data to your computer via wifi, they do have a program that you have to install to your computer that makes your pictures go directly to those 25 sharing sites. so you still need your computer to upload it to a site. So there is a MIddleman in the process... the computer.

the eyefi direct link you provided is indeed interesting. but still a middleman, the phone.

Available now folks! Called Direct Connect and it allows you to send your photo through the Eye-Fi directly to an iPad, iPhone, Android phone and PC or Mac. Im pickin up the 8GB Pro to play with in my S95 now! Looks pretty cool!

I'm getting one for every body I have. This is the best thing to come along in a very long time. While I like some of the features of the camera on my iPhone, it really sucks for indoor shooting as it automatically boosts the ISO to horrible levels. I'd rather use my S90 or for that matter, be able to shoot with my 1D mk II and send the images right over to the iPhone and iPad.
