flash and focusing point in 350D

about the ettl II of canon 350d need some help
the canon 350 d take its ambient exposure metering in the evaluative metering through the af points active..
now what about when we use the flash at the same time
did the flash will also bias its metering over the active af point of the ambient metering like the rebel 300d or the evaluative ettl II metering is metering in a different way??..thanks

Humm, I didn't know that. Is that listed in the book somewhere?

I would think not because my flash appears to work great at adding fill and not blowing out the image.

Can anyone confirm this for us? I have examples of then the flash was a bit strong....

With ETTL II, flash metering is NOT biases towards the active focusing point. It is biased towards the subject which it tries to determine via some sort of algorithm. The stickies at the top of the "Small Flash and Studio Lighting" forum give a more detailed explanation of how ETTL II works.
