I am thinking of upgrading from my 40D to a 7D, but want to know if there's any news at all about a successor to the 7D popping up anytime soon?
Thanks guys.

or you buy the 7D - a great camera, gives you the ability to take great pictures. Instead: you'll be waiting forever. There will always be a successor... Cheers flop

I'd expect a 7D2 to debut at a much higher MRSP, and for the 7D prices to remain fairly healthy for a good while after its release. Roughly similar to what happened with the 70-200mm MkI and MkII. Everywhere that still had stock of the MkI basically preserved its price point. Bottom line is that you're getting an awesome camera that will keep a healthy second hand value for a good long while.

That's 3 years. You never know...
