Hi! I've noticed lately that some of my images on my blog are coming out very flat in color! When I save them in CS5 they are very vibrant and fine.

Take a lookat this blog post (external link) of these frames I'm offering.
Compare the first few images of the blue frame, to the images below it of the same blue frame, in the later images, the blue frame is the vibrant blue it's suppose to be.

Anyone know why this is happening????

Thanks,

Melanie

here's another example:

This image is from the blog:

IMAGE: http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_gtj9hr-OgFs/TUbe8gT_jgI/AAAAAAAAAYg/TFSG4aU-xrg/s1600/IMG_9584+copy.jpg

and this is the same image, but that was uploaded to smugmug (how it's suppose to look!):
IMAGE: http://snapsbypoteat.smugmug.com/Clientgalleries/Aiden/Aiden-011/1170376744_2bSWC-M.jpg

the only difference is that the first one is resized. ???

The top image is in ProPhoto RGB which is bad for the internet. The bottom version is in sRGB which is right for the internet.

I'm just confused at how this is happening! I'm not changing the profile- not purposfully anyways.
Is the sRGB what should be used for prints as well? Thanks.

Using Lightroom I guess?
Check the options under "Export".

And keep in mind that your browser should be color managed, too, if you want to see the same thing that you see in PS.

Generally: Yes.

So I checked my preferences in lightroom and it was on prophoto RGB, so I changed it to sRGB & it says 'the sRGB colorspace can not emcompass the full range of color in lightroom'

is this oK?

Yep. Because web and most print labs are very friendly with the sRGB color space.

Monitors and commercial printers can't encompass the full range of color either.

That's in the prefs & is only used when you use "edit in Photoshop".

Have a look in the "Export" dialog as well.

What colorspace is best depends on your workflow & intended output.
If you don't understand colormanagement, sRGB gives the least chance of errors.
