Assuming you don't like SUVs, trucks etc, what's your choice between Sedan and Wagon?

I like the Sedans for the better protection of gear in the trunk. Not visible to people who might want to break in. On impact it can't come flying through your head. And trunk hoods are generally more convenient to move than wagon rear doors.

... until you run out of space. Then the wagon rules.

What's your take, assuming you drag around valuable and gear of some kind?

My imagine composition sucks. I need a heavier lens.

Subaru Forester - plenty of room, good milage, AWD, PZEV, gets me anywhere that doesn't
require a true off-road machine. Yep, I love my Subaru.

I love my Subaru Forester XT, great pickup and plenty of storage room. Make sure you get the limited so you can open up the sun roof. It works well for me shooting pics. Highly recommended unless you like manual transmissions!!!!! The last XT with a manual was 2008; the marketing morons ruled and left me wondering what I'll buy next.

bcd01 - devices of enjoyment list :D

As a former Honda Fit owner, I prefer cars with fold down rear seat. The Fit had an amazing amount of room, not to mention a very highly rated car on its own merits. Something like a Mazda 3 would fit the bill too.

Unless you have an obscene amount of gear, or really long poles to transport, I just can't see needing a wagon.

An Explorer Sport with the Sohc 4 liter V6 and all wheel drive. It goes where I point it towards unless Ice is involved and then all bets are off. It has done an acceptable job of retreiving one of my granddaughters a couple of towns away during our mini blizzards. and 8 or 9 roundtrip jaunts from mid tennessee to east texas. It even took over the driving tasks when I fell asleep heading west on I 30. its not great at autopilot just tween yalls and me.

bannedPermanent ban

i would never choose a car based on photography gear. unless you aren lugging around 400 and 800L lenses.

with that said, i have a wagon fetish and am biased.
