A friend sent this photo of a hawk that has been visiting her yard in Rhode Island. Any raptor experts out there know what it is?

Thanks for the help. I thought it might be, we have a Cooper's that eats at our feeders and it looks pretty much like that.

Yep! Mostly the pigeons. I live within the city of Chicago and we get a lot of pigeons. I took some pictures of the aftermath of the Coopers feeding in our yard a few weeks ago, but did not post them as they were a bit gruesome.
