Okay peeps, be gentle with me. I have been going stir crazy not being able to go out shooting (lots of bad weather) so after being inspired by someone else on here with a great knife shot, I thought I would have a go.

To be honest, I hope I have done the Knives justice as they really are a work of art in themselves!

All shots were taken with 70-200 on tripod. The orange highlighting comes from a small Maglight with a coloured sweet wrapper over the front. Some shots were taken with a small offset ambient light, some were with some fill-in flash and one was 10sec exposure with only the Maglight.

Might get some extension tubes so that I can get a bit closer. :)

Thanks for looking,

Ian.

The knives may be a work of art. They are also almost impossible to keep clean because of a poorly designed germ cell handle. They would not be in my work space for that reason.

The photographers experimental use of light and composition is interesting. Seems to me that is the only issue here. Credits and kudos are mentioned for experimentation and success with a specific lens, in my opinion.
