I understand what they do and what purpose the serve...I usually stick to soft lighting but Im sure ill have the demand for more powerful and focused light.
right now I have: a beauty dish (white), 7" grid set for the regular reflector, a shoot through and a silver 48In... Im looking for something broad for main light, and something a bit softer for fill.

so far I haven't had very much time with the beauty dish, but so far I haven't liked it at all... granted im a super noob but Im going to give it time. My favorite so far has been the shoot through and my grids on the 7".

What Im asking for here is...does anyone have a comparison? the one on the site is terrible, I cant tell anything by their pics nor can I see the behind the scenes to see what kind of distance they are putting between the subject and that monstrous brella!
I appreciate any info, even if you dont have pictures I would love to soak up some knowledge!

also, my area I shoot in is very tight... but I want to be able to shoot outdoors with whatever I get.

White typically equals a softer wrap of light. Silver is a bit harsher (though still soft) and can be more contrasty.

Maybe because they are discussing this on the thread that already existed when you started this one.

Apparently you didn't read my posting, I wanted to see if anyone had a side by side comparison.
Thanks
