to those of you who sent your camera in and had the issue fixed I envy you :-)

17-55 sent in as it had some random focus issues and was really soft at 17mm. at first it was just about dead on with focus at 0 for MA but would just randomly miss at times. came back now needs +7 MA. granted sharper at 17 so far it seems and they did clean the dust from under the lens but the lens went in with more dust on the lens/body then how it started.
70-200 sent in. front focus at 200 back focus at 70. came back. front focus at 200 back focus at 70mm. same thing came back covered in dust.
7d went in for a err 80. and to see if lens/camera caused the issues. no more error 80 but had dust spots all over sensor and when it went in the thing was clean.
so all in all still not right and going to have to resend it in though just need some more time :-(
hopefully this time irvine can fix it up nice though. and sorry just putting in my own story with canon repair.

lol just being honest don't mean to poop the party. by all means I'm sure it doesn't happen all the time and everyone always is going to get a couple oops moments here and there. it happens I understand that.
just wish I had more time to get all this taken care of though as it seems every moment I'm about to turn the camera in something comes up and I still need the thing be it functioning at 100% or not. gotta love family.

^^^ i can relate to u. But i did what had to done, send it in even if it means im gonna be without camera during family gathering and vacation. I just got mine today, havent done a check yet, maybe tomorrow. But two quick shots got me smiling already. Looks like im good to go. Just need to verify tomorrow in good light just to be sure.

I sent my CLP 7D in a couple of weeks ago for error 30 messages and it was the shutter. They replaced it. The total time in and out was 7 days. Came back perfect. Good luck

Best of luck! Send it in case parts become scarce due to the earthquake.

I actually had to send my gear again for the second time last week. I received it and i will try it out tomorrow. The first time it came back the 17-55 was front focusing so bad i had to set it to +20 and it still looked like it can be better. The 70-200 was front focusing but +10 fixed it. So i sent all my stuff in again just to sure that when fix the 17-55 that the 70-200 was not gonna get messed up. They sent me a prepaid shipping label so the only problem i really have is being camera-less again.
