I love this red belly male. He is at the feeder everyday but never makes a pig of himself, 2 or 3 trips to grab a nut and it's off to the woods for a couple of hours before returning. Comes and goes all day.

I have loads of house finches but have never seen the little guy in the last picture before today. My first thought is that he is leucistic but to be honest that is just a guess. Sorry that the pic is not very clear but it is a pretty large crop.

Either way, enjoy and as always, c&c welcome.

Those Red-bellied shots are gorgeous Mike... all of them. I especially like that first one that shows the beautiful tints, hues and tones of his feathers... he is quite a poser.
I have a large variety of Common Redpolls, plus the Hoary Redpolls at times... lot's of color variations with these birds...

Sharon - thanks for the kind words and the ID help. Funny how it all works isn't it, you would really like to see a redpoll someday and I'm looking at one and don't even know what it is. Kinda seems unfair.

Thanks Bret, the open wing shot was just luck as I happened to be firing off a few when he decided to take off and I caught it just right. Most of the time we are always off just a little when they do that.

Gary - thanks a lot.

Thanks drama!

Thanks dgraham, appreciate it.

Thanks munroe!

Thanks db, #1 was my favorite also, just seems the lighting and everything was just right. I'll be watching for more redpolls from now on.

Mike, this is an outstanding series on the Red-bellied. Superb poses and quality. As good as any I have seen. Job well done.

Harvey, don't know what to say except thanks, coming from a pro like you, your comments mean lots.

Thanks, Holger. The light was hitting him just right. Where is Pendergrass?

Thanks a bunch akhan!
