I contacted the seller and he admitted he had no idea about the shape of the lens in terms of functionality. And despite this, in no way considered a refund as a form of resolution. And yes a paypal claim has been opened.

So after three weeks of litigation, paypal has ruled against me, although I don't see how. I guess my next course of action will have to be attempting to get the lens repaired smh.

It shouldn't have taken three weeks for a decision. What type of claim did you file with PayPal?

What was the reason for ruling against you?

Have you called PayPal and spoken to a supervisor?

Did you fund the PayPal payment with a credit card?

I filed a dispute for "item does not match description"

I don't know why it took so long but they said item was as described which makes no sense.

No.

No it was from my paypal account.

Call PayPal; ask for a supervisor; make them understand that you received a broken lens.

PayPal sometimes does recognize that they've made an error and will reverse the decision (unlike eBay, which seems to use a dart board for their claim resolution process).

Get in touch with Guido and Vinny.

Is old Joe Pesci still around? He'll knock some sense into them eBay selling bums.

Maybe. I've seen him get whacked twice in the past week (Goodfellas and Casino), but he keeps bouncing back.
