Looking to see some fishing pics from you guys. I am an avid bass angler, so I'd love to see some largemouth- swimming or caught (catch and release). All the fishing pics I have were taken with my old Sony DSC-H20, but my T1i is on its way! I also love big game ocean fish like marlin, grouper, and some Mahi-Mahi.

Plus, any tips for taking shots of fish swimming around (while I'm on land) would be greatly appreciated.

Take care.

Jordan

I'll have first go at this if you like Jordan.

This first series of three shots is of a back country (New Zealand) Rainbow trout taking a dry fly.

Matt.

1. Zeroing in. You can see the 'Irresistable' dry fly a couple of inches in front of his nose.

2. And here, mere millimetres from being engulfed.

3. Closing down on the fly and only a second or so from the strike.

4. This image shows that they don't always get the timing right. You can see the fly and leader on the back of his head !!!

Beautiful! Fly-fishing is fishing at its purest. Nothing better than a brown or rainbow grabbing a "wooly bugger". Is that rainbow in its spawning colors?

Na .... just usual colouring for that river. These were taken 4-5 months before spawning.

Here is my submission, one of hundreds of fishing pictures I have taken over the years. When your married to a fisherman and you like to take pictures - need I say more! Anyway, this is "Brown meets Pale Morning Dun" on the Madison River, Yellowstone National Park.

Awesome photo and fish! Now I know what my wife can do while I fish- maybe she won't complain as much anymore.... :)

Do you get that glossy look on the fish by not using a polarizer? I like it!

No polarizer - I didn't own one then. This was one of those lucky shots, happened in an instant. The fish had a glaze of water over it as it rose from the water. Love the eye looking at the fly! Tell your wife to get the camera and start shooting - sure beats just reading a book......My camera equipment now competes for space with his fishing gear and we're both happy!

Cool pic. Is that an Osprey? Looks like he snagged himself a big Gizzard Shad!

Great pics and fish! Is that a flathead or a blue cat? Sucker is a MONSTER. BTW, is that a Sexy Shad Strike King Squarebill CB in the last one? Great little baits.

JonK

I Love that shot of the Osprey carrying the fish.
It reminded me of a WWII bomber carrying it's payload....

That was a blue cat. After we caught it, we rushed to the house, weighed it and released it.

These first two photos I set the camera on the seat and put it on the timer
