Last week was my first time seeing these birds....unfortunately none of the male images were post-worthy so I went back yesterday to take some of the guys (which I'll post soon if any are any good). In the mean time here are the females.

Fantastic shots there. First one is extremely well framed by that branch whose bend matches the bird's pose. Lovely


7D with 400 F 5.6 for birds
5D Mk II with 24-70 for everything else

Great find and captures Scott... your detail and color is excellent... an elusive, nomadic find in the eastern regions... they come through here sporadically and not in the large flocks of yesteryear.

Thanks Gary....they are virtually all full frame with very little cropping so it wasn't hard to preserve the detail.
