My buddy has a ridiculously low STi and wanted to take a few pics before he raised it back up to a reasonable driving height.

Love the car, but. . . . All of shots look a little too cluttered for my taste. I would have tried to separate the car from it's surroundings more. #2 and #4 are best for me, although the car is a bit dark.

Ian.

I think the first is the best

The background in the others is distracting

I kind of like the loudness of the backgrounds - except for the white cement wall with tire marks on it. I would consider reshooting it parked somewhere a little more flattering. Oh, and try moving closer with a wider angle lens, especially with low vantage points. The contrasty colors fit with the subject really well!

I second that. Use a w/a and get down.

Thanks guys. I was using mostly my primes and my widest was my 50 (picked up some other wider lenses since then). The wall was kind of distracting but it was really crowded and that was the only place we found that had enough space to take some photos with a good landscape behind it. We want to do another now that I have my wider primes and on a week day so it is less busy.

The first is my favorite but eventually it ends up suffering from the same thing as the next shots. It does get lost in all the clutter. In the first one it looks good BUT it blends it with that white wall too much.

One is definitely the best in my opinion. As people said above the background is way too cluttered. It takes away from looking at the STi. As for ride height I don't think its too low :P how far is it dropped right now?

I dunno exactly, he has about 3" clearance on his front lip at best and drags the subframe and exhaust on speed bumps. He lives in way too hilly of an area too be that low so he avoids some streets all together so he doesn't drag.

Ya that makes sense. Sucks when you can hear your underbody scraping against the concrete lol

i like 4 the best. the background makes the mood unlike with 5 and 6. the busy backgrounds on 5 and 6 detract from the car but the bokeh on 4 improves the picture IMO

1. I like the angle to the car, but overall I do not like the picture. The sun is too bright and too big. It takes over the picture. The car is the subject, not the sun.
2. background is too busy. takes away from looking at the car.
3. I like this one better, except for the powerlines in the sky. Maybe you can clone those out.
4. once again background is too clutter. You should have used a shallow depth of field to blur out the city more.
5. Looks like a snapshot of a car park on a road.
6. Wouldn't be bad, if the city wasn't right behind the car.

I agree with this comment...the focus should be on the car, try to find a location with less distractions in the back. Nice car btw.

Yep...too much "junk" in the frames, car wheels are lost in shadow, license plate isn't helping, etc. Surely there are better locations in California...
